Jankuloska: No major incidents on New Year's Eve
The New Year 2013 was welcomed without any major incidents in Macedonia. Ten traffic accidents have been registered with two casualties, said Minister of Interior Gordana Jankuloska on Tuesday.
"The number of violations on New Year's Eve has decreased compared to last year, meaning there is a positive trend", said Minister Jankuloska after visiting the Skopje Traffic Police.
However, irresponsible behavior in traffic continues to pose a serious threat.
"The number of traffic accidents in 2012 has dropped compared to the previous year, with 28 less victims. Still, ten accidents occurred on New Year's Eve, with two victims in Skopje and Prilep", added Mrs. Jankuloska.
Analysis on the state of traffic in the City of Skopje has shown improvement with regards to safety, owned to the preventive measures and the security cameras mounted on main intersections, but repressive measures as well.
