Macedonia marks 141st birth anniversary of Goce Delcev
On the occasion of the 141st anniversary from the birth of Macedonian revolutionist Goce Delcev, liturgy and laying flowers ceremony at his grave in church "St. Spas" was held on Monday.
Vardar Mixed City Choir also performed under the baton of Ilija Atanasov. Flowers were laid by state delegation, Macedonian Army officials, and representatives of educational institutions, political parties and associations.
Government's delegation included Deputy PM and Finance Minister Zoran Stavreski, Interior Minister Gordana Jankuloska and Labour Minister Spiro Ristovski.
Also flowers were laid at Goce Delcev's monument at Macedonia Square by delegation comprised of MPs Antonio Milososki, Liljana Poposka, Vladanka Avirovic, Deputy PM and Minister of Economic Affairs Vladimir Pesevski, Minister of Information Society and Administration Ivo Ivanovski and Culture Minister Elizabeta Kanceska-Milevska.
Flowers were also laid at Goce Delcev's monument in the Skopje's City Park.
Goce Delcev was born 1872 in Kukus, Aegean Macedonia. As the member of TMRO, Goce was named the apostle of the revolution, whereas at the same time he was considered great humanist, teacher and freedom fighter that had organised Macedonian nation in National Struggle for Liberation. Great Macedonian revolutionist lost his life on May 4th, 1903, while fighting against Ottoman army in Bansko village, in Aegean part of Macedonia.
