The events of 24 December were masterminded by (opposition) SDSM since last July, namely it planned to make an incident at the time of adopting the state budget in order to prevent its passing that should have served the party as an alibi for boycotting the local elections and creating chaos, Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski told reporters on Thursday.

This has been confirmed by some SDSM members. The opposition leader believes that a chaotic situation serves him in best possible manner for gaining political points, Gruevski said.

"They have put into question our Euro-Atlantic integration processes. The whole world, Europe has realized that. I believe that at the last moment this man will find a strength to come out of this destructive scenario he created and involved the entire country in it," Gruevski said.
