Government adopts second package of measures for flood-hit households
Following its initial aid package, aimed at meeting the urgent needs of the population, the government introduces a new package of measures in relation to infrastructural support, support to farmers and reconstruction of residences in order to tackle the consequences from the floods, government spokesman Aleksandar Gjorgiev told a press conference on Wednesday.
The Government at its session has passed an information envisaging reconstruction of houses partly damaged or completely ruined by floodwaters, which will be divided into four groups.
At the session, the government has also adopted a decision to pay compensation for agricultural areas submerged by floods.
"A special team has been set up, which will be led by Vice PM Vladimir Pesevski, to prepare a report about the overall infrastructural damages and draft-measures in order to be overhauled," Gjorgiev said.
831 families i.e. nearly 3,800 people are facing consequences from the inundations. "The first package of measures aimed at tackling the consequences is being implemented and is due to be completed by the end of the week," the spokesman stated.
