Oracle Academy to be introduced at state universities
Oracle Academy will be introduced at the five state universities in Macedonia, said Minister of Education and Science Pance Kralev at Tuesday's opening of "Oracle Day".
"The Oracle Academy is a program that provides education institutions worldwide with software, curriculum, support and resources that faculties can use and integrate in daily activities. As a result, students acquire practical experience by applying the latest technologies and developing skills required by companies", said Minister Kralev.
The Oracle Academy provides support to 1,5 million students in global terms, including about 600,000 students in Europe, Middle East and Africa.
"Countries' competitiveness is increasingly dependant from the highly educated workforce. New skills are sought in today's knowledge-based world, i.e. a complex level of communication and development of thinking skills", added Kralev.
Besides the Oracle Academy, the Ministry of Education and Science also implements the ThinkQuest program, which represents a platform that provides elementary school pupils with the opportunity to cooperate through joint projects with school teachers or children worldwide involved in the initiative.
The ThinkQuest program in Macedonia encompasses 160 elementary schools and over 2,500 pupils.
