The Finance Ministry paid Thursday Denar 455,3 million (EUR 7,45 million) in subsidies for farmers. Vice Premier and Finance Minister Zoran Stavreski announced that the payment of subsidiaries for wine growers will commence as of next week.  

The Government pays the subsidiaries on a regular basis, as envisaged and according to the season pace for payment of subsidiaries. The Budget is in a good shape and we execute the payments. In this period of the year we usually pay subsidiaries for milk producers, which has already been completed. The payment of farmers’ subsidiaries is underway. Previously, we have transferred funds for scholarships, while the payment of wine growers’ subsidiaries is due to start in the next following days, Stavreski said.            

The Finance Ministry in the last two days has transferred funds to 12,403 farmers for cattle and sheep breeding.

The Government continues to support agriculture as one of the main economic sectors through regular payment of subsidies.
