With government's assistance for infrastructural investments to better standards for Gjorce Petrov inhabitants

Vice Premier and Finance Minister Zoran Stavreski and Gjorce Petrov municipal mayor Sokol Mitrevski signed on Sunday an agreement financing the project "Reconstruction of Old and Construction of New Service Streets" throughout the municipality.

The project, which is envisaged to improve the infrastructure all across the municipality, will be implemented with a World Bank credit in amount of 80 million denars.

There is no greater pleasure than signing agreements aimed at improving the lives of citizens, Stavreski noted.

"The project is in fact part of a bigger project focused on supporting municipal services, which is being realised with World Bank finances and with which municipalities get favourable financial means for implementing infrastructural projects," Stavreski said.

So far, nearly 20 municipalities have been involved in the project and some of them have used funds to advance water supply, energy efficiency and reconstruction of local streets.

"This is an excellent example of cooperation between central and local authorities within the decentralisation process," the FinMin stated.

Speaking at a press conference, mayor Mitrevski said that 25 thousand Gjorce Petrov inhabitants would benefit from the reconstruction.
