Lazar Licenoski’s bronze statue to be unveiled
Two-meter-tall bronze statue of Lazar Licenoski will be unveiled Monday in the yard of art high school in Skopje bearing his name. The statue is a donation of sculptor Dimitar Filipovski, who is professor at the school and is on the occasion of one century since the birth of Licenoski, one of the founders of the Macedonian contemporary painting.
Dimitar Filipovski graduated from the Art High School as well as the Faculty of Fine Arts in Skopje in 1998 in the Sculpturing Department. After graduation he spent ten years in academician Tome Serafimovski’s atelier, working on ten of his monumental pieces as well as a vast number of other smaller sculptures.
