UK Lord Speaker Baroness D'Souza meets Vice-Premier Pesevski, Interior Minister Jankuloska

Baroness D'Souza, Speaker of the UK Parliament's House of Lords, who is visiting Macedonia, held talks Wednesday with Vice-Premier for Economic Affairs Vladimir Pesevski and Minister of Interior Gordana Jankuloska.

The meeting praised the excellent political, economic relations between the two countries and their advancement on regular basis, the Vice-Premier's Cabinet said in a press release.

The regular contacts between high UK and Macedonian officials offers opportunity for further development of the cooperation and solid trade ties, the press release reads.

The talks addressed the significance of supporting Macedonia's strategic goal for full-fledged EU and NATO membership.

Pesevski highlighted the Government's efforts to create favorable, more competitive business climate and presented the benefits for investing in Macedonia. The company 'Johnson Controls', which has launched a construction of its second plant in the industrial zone 'Bunardzik', was pinpointed as a successful example of British investment in Macedonia.

The UK is always on the list of Macedonia's 20 best trade partners, Pesevski said and urged for further advancing of the bilateral economic relations.

MoI Jankuloska also expressed satisfaction with the bilateral cooperation in the sphere of security, saying that there is a room for its further advancing.
