Skopje settlement to get new school after 48 years

A cornerstone was laid Saturday in the Skopje settlement Zelezara for a new school, which is to be built on the location of interim, 48-year-old primary school 'Grigor Prlicev'.

The World Bank loan of MKD 72.44 million (about EUR 1.18 million) is provided for the new building of 2.000sqm, which should welcome over 400 pupils in 18 months.

The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by Vice-Premier and FinMin Zoran Stavreski, the Ministers of Interior and Education/Science, Gordana Jankuloska and Spiro Ristovski respectively, as well as the Mayors of Skopje and Gazi Baba municipalities, Koce Trajanovski and Toni Trajkovski.

The new school will offer better working conditions to both students and teachers, Stavreski said at the ceremony.
