Stavreski: Foreign investments, success story in Macedonia
Macedonia will continue to be exceptionally attractive for investors through maintenance of the lowest taxes in Europe and the favorable business environment, said Vice Premier and Finance Minister Zoran Stavreski on Friday.
"The story of foreign investments in Macedonia is one of success. The improvement of the business environment has put the country on the list of top reformers in the world for years, through an ambitious plan of presenting the country's investment opportunities in Europe and the world towards attracting foreign investments in a relatively small country", Stavreski told reporters after the conference on the Insurance Day observance.
He added global companies and brands come to Macedonia year after year, opening not one but more plants.
"These plants open not only in Skopje but nationwide. We need to continue with the efforts of increasing the amount of foreign investments and opening new jobs", added Stavreski.
According to the National Bank data, foreign investments in Macedonia at the end of August amounted to EUR 157.3 million.
