Stavreski: NBRM's 2012 projected growth highest in region
It is good that the central bank believes next year's economic growth will be significant. The projected three percent are the highest in the region, Vice Premier and Finance Minister Zoran Stavreski said Friday in comment to projections given by the National Bank of the Republic of Macedonia (NBRM) over a 3-percent rise of the country's economy in 2012, down from the Government's 4.5 percent.
Vice Premier Stavreski said it is normal that the Government and NBRM have different projections.
"The important thing is that Macedonia registers positive economic growths", he told reporters after the opening of the Fair of Municipalities.
Stavreski said both his statement and the one of NBRM Governor Bogov emphasized that much would depend from developments in Europe's economy.
"If relative stability is registered there, projections of a solid economic growth are possible", he said.
Stavreski emphasized that worsening of the situation in Europe's economy would result in revision of projections.
"There are no fixed things in present times, and one must be flexible with regards to developments in European economy, since the situation there is frequently changing and there are things that cannot be foreseen. It is important that creators of the economic policy always have reserve options and instruments of their own policies. The Government will be reasonable and rational in this respect, and we will adjust part of the budgetary policy, if necessary", underlined the FinMin.
