EIB credit line among topics at Government’s economic council session

The current macroeconomic movements, information on several ongoing projects and activities in the economic sphere were discussed at Friday’s session of the Government’s Economic Council chaired by PM Nikola Gruevski.
Economic Council reviewed the information on realisation of the credit line of the European Investment Bank (EIB) amounting to EUR 50 million prepared by the Macedonian Bank for Development Promotion, Government’s press office reports.
Macedonian Bank for Development Promotion informed that as a result of the previous activities makes preparation for withdrawal of the first tranche of EIB credit and to the Nov. 18 inclusive eight business banks requested credit support to 87 projects in amount to EUR 19.5 million. Of these requests, 73% of credit value is intended for investments with the repayment period from 3 to 8 years, while 27% are for working capital credits with repayment period of 3 years.
In accordance with the analyses and projections, EUR 19 to 25 million are expected to be withdrawn by year-end and submitting request for withdrawal of additional EUR 10 to 15 million.
