Promotion of four books of 'Macedonian Temptations' project
Culture Minister Elizabeta Kanceska-Milevska promoted Friday four books under the title 'Macedonian Struggle for Freedom'.
They are part of the project 'Macedonian Temptations', which envisages publishing of 25 exclusive, based on documentaries dedicated to significant figures and events of the national history.
Thus far the Ministry of Culture promoted eight titles of the project, namely 'A Century of Exile', 'Victims of the Communist Regime', 'Pavel Satev', 'Todor Aleksandrov', 'Hristo Tatarcev', 'Kuzman Josifovski-Pitu', 'Jane Sandanski' and 'Metodija Satorov-Sarlo'. The books also include DVDs of documentaries - the works of art of prominent Macedonian directors Ivo Trajkov, Darko Mitrevski, Aleksandar Rusjakov, Marija Dzidzeva, Petar Gjurovski...These movies have been already presented by the Macedonian Television.
The project offers verified facts about the long struggle for Macedonia's independence, statehood and most important presents a testimony for the future generations, Kanceska-Milevska said at the promotion.
"The new books on 1450 pages offer authors' texts, original documents and rich illustrative material These printed testimonies give clear picture of the Macedonian struggle for freedom and independence in a new, synthesized manner starting from the first half of the 19 century until the day of establishing the first modern state in 1994 and finally the declaration of independence in 1991. In other words these valuable four volumes are a story for turning the dream of our national activists into reality," Kanceska-Milevska said.
Rade Siljan, the project's editor-in-chief, said the four books covered a great number of historic events, which created the mosaic of the ordeals of Macedonian people during the centuries.
