Government increases support for promotion of Macedonian agricultural products at fairs

The Government will provide €415.000 to support promotion of Macedonian export agricultural production at world renowned agricultural fairs in 2014. Government Spokesperson Aleksandar Gjorgjiev told Saturday’s press conference that Macedonian wines, fruit and vegetables will be promoted at fairs in the US, China, Moscow, Germany, Lithuania, Poland, Switzerland, the Netherlands and Slovenia.

Promotions will be directed at increase of sales mainly at markets which are fast growing and population has large purchasing power, like countries in Asia as China, Gjorgjiev said.

The Government will support presentation at wine fair in Beijing and will review opportunities for promotion of Macedonian products in Hong Kong and Guangzhou. In Europe it will support presentations at Fruit Logistica trade show in Berlin and fairs in Vilnius, Poland, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Switzerland and Slovenia.

The Government will cover all expenses in providing stands at trade shows, their renting, printing and distribution of promotional material in the sphere of agricultural products. It has been providing financial support for promotion of Macedonian agricultural products for several years in a row. Last year it allocated €215.000 for this purpose.
