Gruevski: Small hydro plants more attractive in packages
The new call for construction of 80 small hydro plants in Macedonia includes packages to make them more attractive for investors, said Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski on Sunday.
"Forty-eight hydro plants will be grouped in 16 packages, since some of them are not attractive as a single entity, but when put in a package with 2, 3, 4 or five other plants, they become more attractive for investors", Gruevski told reporters after the promotion of the new titles within the project for translation of 1,000 vocational books.
He added the 80 small hydro plants, if built, would provide 64MW of electricity and have an environmental effect. The investment is worth about EUR 170 million.
"The hydro plants will also have an effect on the construction sector, opening jobs during construction, but also after they are put into use", underlined PM Gruevski.
