fDi Magazine: Macedonian economic zones - top business destinations for investing
The Ohrid-Struga region, which tops a list of the fDi Magazine (Financial Times Ltd), is the most favourable for investors in Europe. The regions of Skopje and Stip are also high on the list.
The ranking shows that Macedonia is a recognizable business destination. Consequently, fDi Magazine on March 12 in Cannes will present an award to Macedonia at a ceremony.
According to fDi analyzes, in November 2013 3,652 FDI projects were registered in Europe. The most FDI projects were realized in the European region i.e. a third of global FDIs.
In the study titled "European Cities and Regions of the Future 2014/15", the magazine had been analyzing and ranking using a new methodology i.e. it took into account cities and regions as new parameters set to be analyzed according to the FDI strategy and the number of inhabitants in order to classify cities and regions according to their size.
According to regions, Macedonia is ranked in the Top 10 list of European regions in which the Ohrid-Struga region is ranked first, in the list of small European regions, the same region takes up the number one spot. In the Top 10 list of South European regions according to FDI strategy, the Ohrid-Struga region (Macedonia) is ranked sixth.
According to cities, Macedonia is ranked in the Top 10 list of European cities according to cost effectiveness and Skopje (Macedonia) is ranked first. In the Top 10 of micro European cities according to cost effectiveness, Stip is number one followed by Veles.
In the category of Top 10 South European cities according to FDI strategy, Skopje (Macedonia) is ranked fifth. In the Top 10 of small European cities according to business cooperation, Skopje (Macedonia) ranks 10th and in the category Top 10 small European cities according to FDI strategy, Skopje (Macedonia) comes in at tenth place.
The region of Eastern Europe in the category of cost effectiveness dominates i.e. the region of Ohrid and Struga is number one.
Macedonia's ranking by the fDi Magazine is a proof that the country slowly but surely is becoming a recognizable business destination. Macedonia is a country that offers an array of benefits, opportunities, favourable conditions, quality workforce, cooperative business sector and successful promotional strategy.
