Overhauling of local roads will resume this and next year, Minister of Transport and Communications Mile Janakieski said Tuesday during his visit to Veles.

Over 100 local roads, more than 200km long, are to be reconstructed by 2015, he said.

"288 local roads, or a total road network of 566km, have been either overhauled or constructed in the period 2010-2013. The country has never before seen such large investment in local roads," Jakimoski told reporters.

Today Jakimoski, accompanied by Veles Mayor Slavco Cadiev, was overseeing the progress of construction works on the road section Mumutcevo-Ivankovci.

"I am satisfied with the pace of construction works, which should be completed in May. We shall get a modern 10-km-long road. The project, worth EUR 750.000, is supported by the Government," Jakimoski said.
