Home Visit project expands to vulnerable groups

In the frames of Home Visit project, 350 teams of health centers as of May 19 (Monday) will begin to conduct public health visiting to over 23.000 people of vulnerable groups.

The accent in the visits will be put on persons with difficult health conditions, incapable to work, sick, persons with disabilities and persons that have walking difficulties.

Labor Minister Dime Spasov and Health Minister Nikola Todorov at Thursday's press conference underlined that the project will mainly include people over age 50 and afterwards the rest of the people younger than 50 years.

Home Visit project is expanded by including 23.464 people over age 50 that have special needs, have congenital defects or are immobile. That's why the health system i.e. visiting nurse will give necessary health care to these people, Todorov said.

Home Visit project is initiated as a campaign which includes preventive health checkups of over elderly people in their homes engaging visiting nurses that work in health centers.

The project's expanding is a result of positive experience on the terrain and expressed interest of the citizens for this type of checkups.
