Korean companies positively assess Macedonia’s investment opportunities

 

Managers of the Korean companies positively assessed the favorable conditions offered in Macedonia for investment opportunities. They consider that the bigger communication may result in cooperation in several spheres among which the tourism.

Companies in automotive industry, information and technology industry and tourism at Seoul business forum were introduced with opportunities in Macedonia for realization of foreign investments.

The reforms in Macedonia aimed at improvement of business climate create conditions for effective work of the companies, Gruevski said. Besides introduction of low and flat tax, investments in education, favorable conditions in the technological industrial development zone, Gruevski said at the business forum emphasizing the benefits from Regulatory Guillotine project which were positively assessed by business sector.

Tourism may represent a field of cooperation between the two countries, Kim Grace, manager of travel agency DG Tours from Seoul who showed interest Macedonia to be introduced to Korean tourists. Last year Croatia was important tourist destination for Koreans and many Koreans visited the country, she said. Also many Korean can visit Macedonia too, i think Macedonia is beautiful and pleasant country and I will certainly make efforts for Macedonia to become tourist destination for the Koreans, she underlined.

Deputy PM and Finance Minister Zoran Stavreski said that Korea is fast growing economy and efforts should be made Macedonia’s favorable business conditions to be presented to investors.

It was very significant for a Macedonian government delegation led by PM Gruevski to come here for the first time in South Korea and to present Macedonia’s investment opportunities to businessmen in Korea. They were introduced with low taxes and favorable business climate and we hope that they will visit Macedonia very soon, Stavreski said.

If you organize events similar like this then it is possible Korean government, companies and people can make efforts to find new place for investments and i think that Macedonia is a good place for investments, Kim Shong from Korean Business Association said.

Seoul business forum organised in cooperation with Financial Times, is part of Macedonian government activities in South Korea following Japan visit.

Government delegation will wrap up Asian tour with a visit to People's Republic of China Hong Kong Special Administrative Region whereat PM Gruevski will meet chief executive of Hong Kong's executive council Leung Chun-ying.
