Deputy PM Pesevski meets new Chinese ambassador
Projects for the construction of two highways Miladinovci-Stip and Kicevo-Ohrid, which are being built by Chinese companies, were discussed Thursday by Deputy PM Vladimir Pesevski and the new Chinese Ambassador to Macedonia, Wen Zhenshun.
The interlocutors also discussed potential investments in energy projects, Pesevski's cabinet said in a press release.
"Pledges for further stimulation of investment promotion, economic cooperation between the two countries and increase in trade exchange were made at the meeting. The Deputy PM welcomed the new ambassador wishing him success during his mandate and resumption of the successful cooperation with his predecessors," stated the press release.
The interlocutors also praised the countries' relations, their long-running friendship and dynamic successful cooperation, underscoring the volume of trade exchange with China.
The People's Republic of China is an important trade partner which in the past few years is constantly in the top 20 countries with which Macedonia is registering high international trade volume. In 2013, China was 8th with 4.4% participation in Macedonia's total trade volume.
