International financial zone to boost employment rate, says Gruevski

The objective of establishing an international financial zone, which is being proposed with the constitutional changes, is to boost the employment rate in Macedonia. Regulation of the best economies that are the most attractive ones for investors will be copied.

This was stated Wednesday by Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski after inaugurating a new autonomous electrical substation and the renovated Skopje-Kumanovo transmission line in Skopje.

The establishment of international financial zones is included in VMRO-DPMNE's election programme as well as in the Government's program, Gruevski said. Right after the adoption of the constitutional amendments, he added, a law will be drafted elaborating in detail all planned activities in the international financial zone in Macedonia.

It is intended the international financial zone to be formed on an area of 10-20 hectares in which the laws of the United States, Great Britain or Germany will be copied in connection to finances.

"It should additionally improve the credibility of the financial zone since the legislation of aforesaid economies, which are the most attractive ones for investors, is going to be fully copied and additional benefits will be introduced for those companies willing to move their branch offices in the country," Gruevski said.
