All pensioners can use free railway transport during the coming weekend, while students are eligible for such transport on Thursday.

The Government passed a decision in July over the use of free railway transport for certain categories of citizens. Namely, pensioners can use such transport every second weekend in the month, while young people up to the age of 27 in the third weekend of the month. There is also free transport for students every Thursday, whereas all students and pupils can use a 50-percent ticket discount.

Spokesman Aleksandar Gjorgjiev said at Wednesday's press conference that over 1,000 pensioners, 3,500 young people, 600 students, as well as 1,000 persons buying discount tickets have used these benefits thus far.

"All pensioners who have a wish or need to travel by train can use this option free of charge every other weekend", added Gjorgjiev.
