PM Gruevski presents report on Government's 100-day work
For 100 days only we have realized 116 of the total number of projects included in the program, while others 554 are being launched and ongoing. Hence, a total of 670 projects are either realized or ongoing, Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski said Saturday, presenting a report on the Government's 100-day work.
Additional 161 projects, not included in the program, are also being realized, Gruevski said.
The report, he said, presents the pace of projects - part of a concrete program that sets deadlines for real achievements and exact budget for their realization, as citizens expect from us. It is not by chance that citizens continuously vote for us, as we have worked hard, including thousands of people in realization of our program, he stressed.
In spite of the challenges and consequences of Europe's economy, Macedonia has achieved the best economic growth in the continent in the first six months of 2014, driven by the large budget's capital investments and the export of companies, located in the technical-industrial development zones, Gruevski said.
In this respect the PM notified that in the Q1 and Q2 of this year Macedonia registered a GDP growth of 3.5% and 4.3% respectively.
In this period capital projects in road, rail road infrastructure, education, health care, energy and other spheres are under construction, he said, pointing out that the Government's measures have yielded results and provided work for the construction sector and 20 other industries.
The Government's measures and projects have been cutting the unemployment rate, which now stands at 28.2 percent. One of the most successful is the policy for attracting foreign investments, Gruevski said.
The Euro-Atlantic integration remains Macedonia's strategic priority and interest, he said.
