30 books from Stars of World Literature edition promoted
New 30 books from “Stars of World Literature” edition have been promoted Sunday in Skopje. 560 books from the world's national literatures are planned to be published as part of the edition "Stars of World Literature".
Each book has its significant contribution in strengthening the understanding of the humankind with all its speciality, traditions and perceptions for the world around us. Regardless of the genre every book and their authors are priceless opportunity for every reader to acquaint with time, countries and thoughts of the author, Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski said at books promotion ceremony.
The books include Japanese poets, Tolstoy, Melville, Plato, Pierre Beaumarchais, Mikhail Sholokhov, John Steinbeck, Carl Jung, William Golding…etc.
Wide range of authors from different cultures and time are included. The reading still enriches the mind and refines the soul, Gruevski said.
Led by this though, we are continuing with realisation of this project because only real treasure is the mind which is fed with thoughts of authors and their works which we are presenting today, Gruevski said.
Culture Minister Elizabeta Kanceska-Milevska said that these new books from world literature, breaking the language barriers, will discover to Macedonian readers new worlds, new horizons and will provide knowledge of values that have civilisation importance.
She underlined that the Government and Ministry of Culture will continue to support all projects, which are in direction to raise awareness to the importance of the language as fundamental factor of the national identity, promotion of the Macedonian literature in international frameworks and projects which are in function to embodiment of the world literary heritage in education of all generations.
