PM Gruevski congratulates Alphabet Day to Albanian community in Macedonia
Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski congratulated Friday the members of the Albanian ethnic community in Macedonia on Albanian Alphabet Day – Nov. 22.
The creation of modern Albanian alphabet is an important step towards literate and cultural development. It is the key for development and growth of all processes, cultural, economic, political and social. Today’s holiday is important to all members of the Albanian ethnic community in the Republic of Macedonia, but also its celebration is important for the development of multi-ethnicity and nourishing these values, Gruevski said in a congratulation note.
By celebrating this day we nourish the tolerance, valorise mutual respect, which is important as a country and sharing the characteristics of the communities we create a model which should be an example both for its uniqueness and for its characteristics of joint coexistence, respect and tradition of mutual understanding.
Such values should be deeply embedded among the citizens and integral part of Macedonia’s existence. These are common values which should have priority in our society and stimulus to continue to work for the benefit of our country, to continue with the efforts in providing conditions for growth and development and improvement of the standards of the citizens, Gruevski said in the congratulation note.
