Gruevski- Al Saud meeting: Macedonia, Saudi Arabia to bolster bilateral relations
Macedonia's Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski had a meeting Monday in Riyadh with Saudi Arabia Crown Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud - the first one at this level since the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two countries.
At the meeting, Gruevski and Al Saud expressed readiness for further development of the bilateral relations and shared opinions for boosting the economic and political cooperation in all spheres of mutual interest.
Today, the Finance Ministers of Macedonia and Saudi Arabia, Zoran Stavreski and Ibrahim bin Abdulaziz Al-Assaf respectively, signed an agreement on avoiding double taxation, an additional step to facilitating the possible cooperation and trade exchange between the two countries.
"We have tackled numerous political and economic topics, including the possibilities for Saudi Arabian companies to invest in Macedonia," Gruevski said after the meeting.
Saudi Arabia has been practicing to disperse its capital across the globe by buying stocks, investing in various projects and in this respect I've presented Macedonia as an excellent destination for doing business, Gruevski said.
This visit contributes to strengthening the bilateral relations and Saudi Arabia is ready to cooperate with Macedonia in various projects in the spheres of agriculture, food processing, infrastructure and energy, Al Saud said .
"Saudi Arabia also supports the initiatives for signing agreements that will facilitate and stimulate the economic cooperation and exchange between the two countries," he added.
This evening, the Macedonian governmental delegation, led by PM Gruevski, will present the possibilities for investing in Macedonia at a business forum in Riyadh. The event is organized in cooperation with Riyadh Chamber of Commerce & Industry.
