Macedonian doctors to get advanced training at top world clinics
A new project of the Health Ministry envisages advanced focused training of Macedonian doctors at the top 50 university clinics within the Shanghai list in the field of medicine.
Health Minister Nikola Todorov said at Wednesday's press conference the project represented a new approach in the section of education, referring to five areas of medicine - orthopaedics and traumatology, ophthalmology, digestive surgery, neurology and neurosurgery, and neonatology.
According to the project, three doctors in each area will be sent for a one-year training.
"The idea is to encompass majority of medical specialties over the next 3-4 years. Upon their return to Macedonia, the doctors will be accompanied by their mentors, who will assist them in doing a certain number of interventions in their specialty", said Todorov.
The Health Ministry will cover all training costs and salaries for the doctors.
