Over 200 doctors sent for training abroad in past four months
A total of 234 healthcare workers from the public provider system were sent to education in renowned medical centers in Europe and across the World in the past four months, the Health Ministry informed on Wednesday.
The hospitals where Macedonian doctors were sent to advance their skills and learn about new medical procedures include the Vienna AKH Medical Center, the UCLA Ronald Reagan Medical Center, the Stuttgart Clinic, the Eppendorf University Clinic in Hamburg, clinics in Istanbul, Ljubljana, Sofia, Izmir, Belgrade... The Ministry informs that additional 18 doctors will travel for education in Novo Mesto, Slovenia and in Istanbul, by the end of the month.
"The project for foreign education of healthcare workers enables them to acquire new skills and knowledge, implement new treatment techniques and continues to advance the quality of healthcare services in Macedonia", the Ministry writes in a press release. The project has been going on for three years, with a total of 1.300 doctors and other healthcare workers sent for training abroad in that period.
