PM Gruevski: Budget projected to support economy and new jobs
The 2012 draft-budget is projected well because unlike last year's budget, there's a 28% increase in capital investments, which means direct support to the economy in an effort to open new jobs, PM and VMRO-DPMNE leader Nikola Gruevski said Tuesday after an annual meeting of leaders of political parties that comprise the For Better Macedonia coalition.
He underlined that the budget was being boosted by 20% this year as well compared to 2010. "There is continuity, because growth was registered in previous years as well," Gruevski added.
"Growth in capital investments, in the budget and the economy continuously rises. This contributes many companies to weather the storm now that they've lost foreign markets. Consequently, it's good that every year there is constant increase in funds in capital investments and their realisation. The fact is very encouraging," Gruevski said.
According to him, it is favorable that Macedonia has a low budget deficit. "We're maintaining a low budget deficit even amid the most severe global economic crisis and Europe's debt crisis - 2.5% deficit is one of the lowest in Europe and from this point of view the budget is projected to meet the goals," the PM concluded.
