PM Gruevski: Government to remain focused on EU recommendations in 2012
In 2012 Macedonia's Government will keep its focus on the all recommendations and remarks of the EU report in order to advance in all spheres, starting from political and economic ones, Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski told reporters on Tuesday.
"The report is a guideline for our future engagements, offering us new ideas for progress, modernization and improvement, Gruevski said, pointing out further bolstering of the country's reform efforts.
The Government, he said, has been working on the National Action Plan (NAP), which incorporates all recommendations, remarks and shortcomings, notified in the EU report. He expressed hope that today the Government would approve the plan, enabling it to enter the parliament procedure.
Gruevski also expressed satisfaction with the pace of judicial reforms. Last December the Parliament endorsed a large package of laws, some being implemented in this and others due to enter into force next year.
He pointed the laws on litigation procedure, court service and judicial council as pillars of ongoing reforms, which have been already giving tangible results. If new solid ideas for amending the laws come to light the Government will address them, but "now we should focus on implementing of all bills, adopted thus far," Gruevski said.
