Health Ministry to conduct opinion polls on health care system
Health Ministry in the next four years will conduct opinion polls regarding health care system and based on results will undertake improvement measures.
The four-year project will be conducted during entire year and will include not only patients but also health workers.
The first poll is intended to all categories of patients, their closest relatives and their perception on health services. The second poll will include health workers who should evaluate health care system, work of health institution, equipment and hygiene in the institution and the work of the management team. The third poll foresees measuring the satisfaction of the patients who were in hospital, evaluating the staff and services during their stay in hospital.
12.000 respondents will be included in the poll and high precision of results is expected to be received.
Another project so-called “patient” planned, as researchers in the role of patients should evaluate several segments of health service, will also be conducted. The project is planned to begin on Mar. 1.
I expect these two projects will provide us with information that will be of essential importance for creation of policies by the Ministry of Health aimed at improving the services as well as conditions and quality of the health care system, Health Minister Nikola Todorov said at today’s press conference.
