Minister of Local Self-Government Nevzat Bejta met Friday with the Albanian Minister of European Integration, Majlinda Bregu in the course of his visit to Tirana.

Bejta on behalf of the Macedonian government and his ministry offered condolences to the government and people of Albania over the death of an Albanian solider in Afghanistan, the Ministry of Local Self-Government said in a press release.

Ministers Bejta and Bregu discussed topics related to bilateral projects as well as the use of funds from the IPA cross-border cooperation programme.

Bregu said that Albania and Macedonia fostered excellent bilateral ties and welcomed the contribution of Albanian members of the Macedonian government regarding Euro-Atlantic integration.

Given cross-border cooperation, Minister Bregu stated that Albania would help Macedonia in a bid bilateral cooperation to be strengthened.
