MoI solves major cases involving violent attacks, 28 charges filed

Police have filed charges for violent crime against 28 people in connection to the latest incidents amongst young people. Police officers have been ordered to use public transportation when going to work, Interior Minister Gordana Jankuloska said Saturday after a meeting of the Skopje Sector of Interior Affairs.

The Interior Ministry (MoI), Jankuloska stated, has solved all major cases involving attacks that took place in the past few days in Skopje. Charges have been filed against people of different ethnic background with the youngest being only 11 years old.

"28 charges have been brought in connection to recent attacks. Seven other people are being interviewed." she stressed.

Police have also solved some of the incidents that happened overnight when a public bus was pelted with rocks and 10 cars were damaged in one of Skopje's settlements. Six minors have been charged, including an 11-year old.

"MoI resumes its activities to solve all cases, even though most of them have been closed. With this, we want to send a clear message that all those who will resort to violent crimes will be punished. Violence cannot be tolerated in any circumstance," Jankuloska pledged.
