Ilir Hasani - Deputy Minister of Health

Born on May 23, 1977 in Kumanovo, North Macedonia

He completed primary and secondary school in his hometown. He is a graduate of Medicine from the University of "St. Cyril and Methodius” in 2001.

He started as a primary care physician in a private medical institution.

He has been volunteering with the Clinic of Traumatology in Skopje since 2003, he was actively involved in daily practice.

He has been employed with Clinic of Traumatology in Skopje since 2004 and was awarded the title specialist in general surgery in 2008.

In 2006 he was elected as a junior medical assistant, later in 2011 he was appointed as a medical assistant.

In 2015 he was elected assistant doctoral student of the Faculty of Medicine in the surgery subject matter.

Between 2009-2010 he was acting Director of the Orthopedic Diseases Clinic at the Clinical Center in Skopje.

In 2009 he was elected as a national representative of the Joint Medical Committee of the NATO alliance.

In June 2010 he was appointed Deputy Coordinator of the Surgical Clinics, Emergency Center, KARIL and Clinic for Orthopedic Diseases.

2011 through 2017, he managed the Emergency Surgical Center, he contributes to the organization of the emergency service, emergency diagnosis and emergency care of acute surgical patients in normal conditions and in conditions of mass events.

Since 2017 he has been appointed as a director of the Clinic for Traumatology, Orthopedic Diseases, Anesthesia, Resuscitation and Intensive Care and Emergency Center-Skopje, also appointed as a National Adviser to the Minister of Health.

In 2018, he completed his sub specialization in traumatology, which earned him the title of subspecialist traumatologist.

He completed his doctoral studies in the field of traumatology of the musculoskeletal system at the Medical Faculty in Skopje in March 2018, meanwhile he was elected a research associate in June 2019 at the same faculty.

Hasani has participated in several congresses, symposiums, and other professional-scientific gatherings of international and national character as a lecturer. He is the author and co-author of many professional thesis, that were published in magazine reviews and bulletins of congresses and symposiums.

He invented several new methods of modern traumatology for the first time in North Macedonia, thanks to his inventions, Traumatology Clinic is using his methods ever since he introduced.
In May 2020, he was elected as a national delegate to represent North Macedonia in the world largest organization of traumatologists and orthopedists SICOT.

He is Fluent in English, certified from the University of Cambridge. He has intermediate knowledge of the German language and he is proficient in computer skills.

He is a member of the Macedonian Medical Association, the Macedonian Association of Orthopedists and Traumatologists, AO Alumni association, AO Spine Association, the Red Cross of North Macedonia, and an active member of SICOT (Société Internationale de Chirurgie Orthopédique et de Traumatologie).

 He was appointed Deputy Minister of Health in September 2020.
