Conference "Open Government Partnership"
Available and transparent data from open, secure and efficient state institutions that cooperate and communicate with citizens are part of the measures included in the Action Plan, developed by the Ministry of Information Society and Administration, within the Open Government Initiative, to which Republic of Macedonia is a signatory.
"The Action plan should enable transparency of the Government, whereas data of state institutions to create an added value for our society", said Minister Ivo Ivanovski at the opening of Wednesday's conference "Open Government Partnership".
According to him, all information of public character are available to citizens on the basis of the Law on Free Access to Information, with the Action Plan enabling their improved availability from a technical aspect.
The Action Plan is developed through a World Bank grant. A working group has already been established, including representatives offering data of public interest, but also several inspectorates.
Macedonia gets support and experience transfer in project "Open Government Partnership" from Great Britain, as one of the leading countries in transparency of public information.
"The UK supports the Macedonian Government in its efforts for openness and transparency of public institutions. Such projects help in increasing the degree of data availability", said British Ambassador to Macedonia, Christopher Yvon.
