FM Poposki meets U.S. House officials
Foreign Minister Nikola Poposki met Thursday with U.S. House Committee on Foreign Affairs chairperson Ileana Ros-Lehtinen and committee member Jean Schmidt.
The meeting focused on the promotion of Macedonia's achievements in the Euro-Atlantic integration process, as well as arguments for obtaining a NATO membership invitation, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a press release.
Minister Poposki stressed that Macedonia has already met required membership criteria, with the country being a recognized contributor in Alliance missions, whereas the accession has been blocked by only one member-state, despite the International Court of Justice ruling.
Expressing gratitude for Macedonia's participation in NATO-led missions, Ros-Lehtinen emphasized that the country is the United states' credible partner, deserving its Alliance membership, reads the press release.
