Gruevski: Macedonia to resume its neighborly ties no matter who wins in Greece

Macedonia will keep on building neighborly ties with Greece. Regardless of who wins the elections, we will make efforts to move things forward and to find a solution to the name dispute, Premier Nikola stated Sunday when asked about his expectations following the elections in Greece and Serbia.

The parties deemed by the citizens in these countries as the best option for them should win, according to him.

"No matter who will be elected, we will try to continue fostering neighborly ties with them," Gruevski said.

"This particularly refers to Greece, because Macedonia has an issue with its neighbor that has been obstructing us for 21 years. We will try to move things forward with the new leadership in Greece in finding a solution to the dispute that has been a burden to the two countries. It is a bigger issue for Macedonia, but it's not also easy for Greece to bear such a burden before Europe and the world for years," Gruevski told reporters.
