Minister Todorov visits renovated operating rooms in orthopaedic surgery
Health Minister Nikola Todorov Sunday visited three renovated and one newly formed operating rooms intended to orthopaedic surgery at the Skopje’s University Clinic of Trauma, Orthopaedics, Anaesthesia, Reanimation and Intensive Care - Urgent Center.
The investment for reconstruction of operating rooms amounts Denar 3 million provided by Clinic’s budget, while surgical chairs amounting to Denar 13 million are a donation.
Director of the Skopje’s University Clinic of Trauma, Orthopaedics, Anaesthesia, Reanimation and Intensive Care - Urgent Center, Rexhep Selmani informed Todorov about spent material i.e. orthopaedics implants and prosthesis and the dynamics of the surgical operation.
Our clinic is one of the leading clinics in the region in the sphere of prosthesis, Dr. Selmani said.
Making comparison to Slovenia, Todorov said that over 70% of operations at the orthopaedic surgery are planned and 30 are emergency cases.
The key moment is that Slovenian clinic has a budget of EUR 14 million and our clinic EUR 1.5 million. Still, in the part of 30% of urgent surgeries one will wait 100 days in Slovenia, while in Macedonia the waiting for the operation is 2 to 3 days, Todorov said.
