Gruevski: Sweden visit in right time, companies seek places to invest beyond eurozone

Developments in Macedonia and Sweden, bilateral ties, current and future cooperation, as well as Macedonia's EU and NATO aspirations were in the focus of Tuesday's meeting of Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski with Swedish Parliament Speaker Per Westerberg.

"I briefed them with Macedonia's progress in the creation of good business climate, which evoked large interest among those present", said PM Gruevski, who completed the two-day visit to Sweden.

According to him, the Government delegation's goal with the Scandinavian visit was to present benefits for doing business in Macedonia, attracting potential investors.

Gruevski agreed with Swedish Trade Minister Eva Björling said the visit came at the right time, since companies are aware of the eurozone crisis and seek for locations to invest beyond the area.

"Following the presentation of information regarding low costs for doing business, low taxes, free trade agreements with European countries, stable monetary policy, they demonstrated serious interest to visit Macedonia and witness business opportunities up close", added PM Gruevski.

On Monday, Gruevski met with Swedish counterpart Fredrik Reinfeldt, Trade Minister Eva Björling, and Swedish Trade Council CEO Ulf Berg.

The Macedonian delegation has departed for Finland, where Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski is set to meet with country's President Sauli Niinisto. Afterwards, the Government team leaves for Copenhagen.

The delegation also includes Vice Premier for Economic Affairs Vladimir Pesevski, Ministers for Foreign Investments Vele Samak and Bill Pavleski, as well as deputy director of the Agency for Foreign Investments and Export Promotion Hristijan Delev.
