Biography: 

Ilir Demiri, MD, was born on October 25th, 1970, in Tetovo. He completed the secondary education in the medical high school “Nikola Shtejn” in Tetovo, 1988/1989. He obtained his higher education at the University of Mother Theresa, Tirana in the Republic of Albania at the Faculty of Medicine, where he graduated on 30.07.2003 with a GPA of 8.37. After completing his medical internship, Ilir Demiri, MD, was employed at the University Clinic for Infectious Diseases and Febrile Conditions in Skopje in 2004.
He began his specialization in infectious diseases in 2005 at the Medical Faculty "St. Cyril and Methodius" - Skopje and successfully completed it on October 28th, 2010. After completing his specialist studies, he worked in the Department of Urgent Infectious Diseases and Intensive Care at the Clinic for Infectious Diseases.
Demiri has published numerous papers as author and co-author in prestigious journals. He participated in many medical congresses in the country and abroad with oral and poster presentations. The English language is actively used. In 2006, he underwent education and training for resuscitation and restitution organized by KARIL at the Medical Faculty.
Doctor Demiri attended training for ICU Management in Zagreb, Croatia in 2010, as well as ICU Management training in London, England in 2011. Furthermore, he received training for psychological support of people living with HIV in Novi Sad, Serbia in 2019.
He participated as a researcher in the CALVID-1 study evaluating the efficacy of IMU-038 plus the choice of the researcher for the standard of care therapy (SoC) versus placebo plus (SoC) in the treatment of coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19). In 2020, he was appointed as the coordinator for COVID-19 at the Clinic for Infectious Diseases and Febrile Conditions.
In 2020, Doctor Ilir Demiri acquires the title of chief physician.
He enrolled in doctoral studies in the field of medical sciences at the "St. Cyril and Methodius University" in 2013/2014, and on 28.10.2021 he successfully defended his doctoral dissertation entitled "Significance of serum procalcitonin concentrations in predicting the course and outcome in patients" and acquired the title Doctor of Medical Sciences - Clinical Medicine.
In 2022, he was awarded the scientific title of research associate in the scientific fields: infectious, tropical, and quarantine diseases.
He is fluent in English, Albanian, and Serbian. 
Among the foreign languages, he is actively fluent in English, Albanian and Serbian.
Excellent computer skills, extensive knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. 
In 2023 he was appointed medical director in the PHI Clinical Hospital Tetovo where he achieved remarkable success in a brief time.
