PM Gruevski: Citizens punished SDSM for illicit oil trade as well
Violation of the oil embargo in the 1990s was a 'public secret'. It was not by accident that some statistical data from that period showed that Macedonia's oil export was even higher than Kuwait's one. However, the recent testimony of a direct participant in those illegal activities, who says to have had a tete-a-tete contacts with with top Macedonia's officials in that period, presents new public disgrace for those politicians, Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski told reporters on Sunday.
The election score of these politicians, (Branko) Crvenkovski and (Ljubomir) Frckovski, show that citizens have been familiar with the 'public secret', Gruevski said.
"Now the rumors in some way are being confirmed. As in the past, it will also affect on citizens' opinion whether such people should enjoy their support and resume power," Gruevski said after a sports hall opening ceremony in Tetovo high school.
