Young people will not accept illegal employment
Most senior high school students (74%) would refuse an illegal job, because it's insecure and against the law without guaranteed working rights, show results of a survey conducted in the frameworks of the project "Refuse Illegal Employment" by the ministries of labour and education.
"After the project, I can conclude that most young people are able to identify what a gray economy is. The objective has been met and we will keep on making efforts in identifying all forms of gray economy," Minister of Labour and Social Policy Spiro Ristovski urged.
The project was realized in March and April in 93 high schools across Macedonia.
Minister of Education and Science Pance Kralev stated that initially the focus was put on high schools due to the fact that students joined the market of labour soon after graduating. "As a result, they are more likely to be offered an illegal employment," he said.
Workers, who are paid under the table, are usually hired in construction and tourism, according to the labour ministry.
