Deputy PM in charge of Economic Affairs Vladimir Pesevski paid late Saturday a working visit to Bitola municipality and met with Mayor Vladimir Taleski and President of Municipality Council of Bitola Silvana Angelevska discussing topics related to local economic development.

Pesevski said that the meeting was focused on economic policies carried out in Bitola municipality, active projects and new projects aimed at rapid economic development of the this local self-government.

Regarding proposal by Bitola Mayor Vladimir Taleski on construction or expansion of sport airport in Bitola, Pesevski assessed it as credible.

- The idea is good and I will make contacts with consulting company to prepare feasibility study on justification of the project, reviewing possibility for business creation, products export and development of tourism especially with Turkey thanks to relations between Bitola and Kemal Ataturk, which points out the great potential of this project, Pesevski said.

Taleski said that the project for expansion of sport airport at the level of commercial airport is realistic.

- I am convinced that with the support of the Government we can transform Bitola airport into airport that will connect us with other larger airports in the region. It will change the way of living in municipality and wider. The airport will operate for around 350.000 citizens from Pelagonija region and can also be used by our neighbours from Greece, Taleski said.
