The main objective of the Institute will be research capacity development and opportunities of wider social interest and generating strategic guidance of national interest as well as their promotion to the domestic and foreign public.

- With this Institute, the Republic of Macedonia receives a significant scientific and social political body of interest for policies development, significant support for state and national interests and policies, uniting different opinions, and by their multiplicity the best practices within the action of external policy will be used and recommended, said Gjorgjiev.

He has also stipulated that the Institute will contribute towards exchange of views, opinions, positions within the expert - focused debate forums useful in creating policies and making decisions in the foreign affairs area, making and publishing documents that treat regional, European and global themes and issues, in which prevail positions according to the strategic priorities of the Republic of Macedonia.

The Institute will prepare evaluations, recommendations, scenarios of events and situations development according to acquired knowledge, and expertise and evaluation of documents of strategic importance.

The official start of the Institute is expected for late August, and the final number of employees will be determined by a special Regulation book made in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Personnel will accomplish goals, missions and visions required by the Institute, said Gjorgjiev. At the beginning, the Institute will be funded from budget resources according to dynamics of activities undertaken.

In the first phase, as the spokesperson explained, the Institute is provided to be established as a Directorate within the MFA, managed by a director, and operating through two sectors with two departments. Final aim is a complete separation from its hierarchical position within the MFA and to become autonomous, independent, nonprofit think-tank established institution. Regarding stuff, undertaking employees by the effective personnel from MRI is envisaged, and also a cooperation with external partners of academic and expert public from the Republic of Macedonia and abroad, underlined Gjorgjiev,.

The Government, has adopted the agenda for the initial work of the Institute, scheduled to organize series of tribunes and information debates on current and strategic issues and positions of national and regional importance. Several publications regarding the important essential topics will be published, and several lectures by experts will also be organized, informed the spokesman.

- The Institute will represent new and important quality and substantial benefit in supporting the foreign policy of the Republic of Macedonia and will contribute towards improving the political life and positive effects in the realization of its goals, said the government spokesman Aleksandar Gjorgjiev.
