Government to overhaul Skopje Universal Hall - spokesman
Macedonia's Government has decided to launch a full reconstruction of the Universal Hall in Skopje, earmarking Denar 400 million (about EUR6,55 million) for the project.
The new project will meet the modern standards and preserve the Hall's authentic facade, Government's spokesman Aleksandar Gjorgiev told reporters on Monday.
The Hall will get new power, heating and cooling systems, enterier, up-to-date audio & video equipment. It will have two concert halls (one with capacity of 1.500 and other of 100 seats.)
The 40-year old hall should be reconstructed for 18 months at most after the launch of the works by the end of this year.
By this project Macedonia and its capital Skopje get a new modern structure, which will be able to host many cultural, artistic events, Gjorgiev said.
