Gostivar's restored Clock Tower promoted
Culture Minister Elizabeta Kanceska-Milevska promoted Wednesday the restored Clock Tower in Gostivar, a 17-century monument of culture. The renovation was financed by the Ministry of Culture.
"I'm quite pleased that the authentic architectural appearance of this important landmark was restored. It is expected next year the facility to be opened for tourists following the completion of its interior design," Kanceska-Milevska stated.
She noted that the preservation of cultural heritage in Macedonia was one of the highest priorities of the Ministry of Culture.
The Gostivar Clock Tower has been a symbol of the town for four centuries and it is featured on its coat of arms.
Minister Kanceska-Milevska in Gostivar was accompanied by Local Self-Government Minister Nevzat Bejta and the director of Gostivar's Conservation Center, Adnan Fejzulai.
