PM Gruevski meets representatives of Women's Lobby, Gender Equality Commission
Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski held talks Thursday with Liljana Popovska, Chair of the parliamentary Commission for Gender Equality, and representatives of Macedonian Women's Lobby.
Gruevski highlighted the Government's strategic commitment to developing, promoting the women's rights, opportunities, being demonstrated by numerous measures and projects, such as support of women-entrepreneurs, farmers, free homes for vulnerable groups (single mothers) etc. The Government is ready for realization of other projects, in particular the ones that will improve the women's economic status, he added
The PM also expressed concern about the declining birth rate in Macedonia, saying that the Government, in cooperation with universities, will draft a demographic development strategy, which is to incorporate an analysis of the current situation and recommendations, possibilities for its surpassing.
