Businessmen express interest to invest in tourism zones - PM
Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski expects for Macedonia's torism sector to keep developing in the next year and bring more foreign vistors to the country.
Last month the number of foreign toursits was higher for 8%, while the one of overnight stays for 19%, This is a result of the Government's efforts to bring investments and initiate more projects in this sector, Gruevski said.
For 2013 a total of EUR three million has been allocated as direct support of tourism, Gruevski said, pointing out that other projects were also planned for direct or indirect assistance to this sector.
"Reacently the Parliament adopted a law the Tourism Development Zones, and the realization of this new project will commence soon. Powerful businesmen have already expressed interest to buy some of them and erect large number of hotels, entertaing centers and other facilities that will attraxt tourists," the PM said.
