As of next year, citizens will play Internet games of chance organized by a national entity, said Government Spokesman Aleksandar Gjorgjiev.

Amendments to the Law on Games of Chance stipulate the establishment of a state internet lottery, including a 51-percent share of the State Lottery of Macedonia and a 49-percent private capital.

A foreign partner is to be sought through an international tender, which would be announced after the law amendments are passed in the Parliament.

In the joint endeavor, the State Lottery will not invest funds, but the right to organize the games of chance, whereas the private investor will be obliged to invest funds, equipment, hardware, software, know how, staff.

"The project would not result in spending of state budget funds, but additional revenues in the citizens' interest", said Spokesman Gjorgjiev.
